Developers' update on your feedback

Dear players,

Thank you for reporting different game issues to us - today our team is ready to share with you the updates on most of them.

Let’s start!

Game freezes

After a series of tests we managed to figure out the cause of most freezes - this happens due to several interfaces loading at the same time.

In our next patch coming to both consoles this week we have reworked some of the interfaces to avoid it, so this should fix most of the freezes happening in the match. In our next patches we will keep dealing with this problem, making the freezes happen less and less frequently and - eventually - disappear altogether.

Movement and hit registration

This nasty problem that frustrates both you and us has a top priority in our team right now. We are already working on improving the hit registration, applying and testing different types of netcode and movement patterns, and once we deal with the freezes problem, our work on netcode will be twice as intensive.

Just like with freezes, this problem can’t be solved straight away in one go - we will keep introducing fixes one by one in our next patches.

Squads getting matched to opposing teams

This problem will be fixed in the patch coming this week.

FPS drops

We have carefully collected the statistics about FPS drops, that is - on which maps they happen and under which circumstances.

We are now analyzing the data to improve the performance and decrease the frequency of FPS drops, and will deliver the first FPS fixes in one of the future patches. Then we’ll collect the data again, run tests and keep fixing the FPS drops until we eliminate the vast majority of situations when they happen.

Footstep sounds

We will improve the footstep sounds in the patch coming this week. Still, we will keep listening to your feedback on the new sounds and will introduce further fixes if needed.

Teamkills in hardcore

We know this problem is incredibly frustrating - we see you reporting this everywhere and we witness it ourselves when we jump in a Hardcore match and someone starts ruining it.
Right now we are already testing the penalty system for team killers and we are planning to introduce it in one of the nearest updates in June.

Servers for Australia / Oceania

We know how hard it is to play a competitive game while having a high ping, and Singapore servers are too far away right now.

We are glad that our game has received much appreciation in AUS/OCE region, and we are planning to install an Australian server as soon as we get the equipment.

Naturally, when this happens, we will tell you about that later in a separate news.

Weapons getting “jammed” after reloading

We are aware of the problem and are currently investigating it. Its reproduction pattern seems random now, so our QA team is trying to find the factors leading to this issue.

We will appreciate any help with this, so if you encounter this problem, try capturing it and sending it to us in social networks.

Players spawning in the middle of the map

Thank you for letting us know about this problem! Our team has already found the solution and will try to install it on live servers as soon as possible.

Controls presets

We’ll work hard to bring you the alternative control presets until the end of June. These include left-handed config, L1/R1 aiming and shooting and crouching with R3.

Custom configurations (button mapping) seem a very complicated issue, but we have added it to our development plan and are aiming to introduce it within 2020.

Unclear progression

Thanks to our most dedicated players who already played so much they finished the initial progression, we found out that the progression number is not displayed after level 50. We are planning to introduce a fix to that in the nearest patch.

We will also work on a better display of Mastery levels (high levels of 100, 200 etc.) that will come in later patches.

Incorrect damage counter

Right now the damage counter is not as efficient as we thought it to be. We will rework it to show ALL the incoming damage, not only some part of it or nothing at all. However, the counter will only count the damage you dealt to the player that killed you.

This is something we are also planning to introduce within June.

Boxes in possession shown as holo

It is indeed misleading when you have a box, but it is still shown as a hologram in the box menu. Thank you for noticing this, we will change this as well. This will be fixed in one of the next patches.

Custom rooms and spectator mode

These are the features that need quite a lot of development resources, yet they play a very important role in every competitive game, and we are already working on their implementation this year.

Grenade trajectory display

We are not planning to do this, but in future you’ll have a special training game mode, where it will be possible for you to test your weapons, including grenades.

Weapons on the bomb preventing defuse

This problem will be fixed in one of the nearest patches in June.

Improved statistics

We are working on every point of statistics we can log right now, so that your stats would not be limited by K/D and playtime.
We hope that soon we’ll give you more information on which stats you’ll be able to track in the nearest updates.

Weapon balance

This is something we will keep honing constantly based on your feedback. The nearest patch, for example, will feature a quicker ADS time for all sniper rifles, which should buff this weapon class significantly and make way for the professional sniping.

And here are some things we have given information before, but since it's still to be delivered, we will briefly mention their current state, so that you know that it's still WIP.

FOV slider

Let us be completely open with you - the increase of FOV might significantly influence the FPS issue, so we won’t do this until we fix the FPS drops currently happening in our game.

Once we see that FPS drops are no longer an issue, we will start working on the FOV slider.

Bomb timer in Casual mode

Thanks for this suggestion, it is indeed a very useful one. We’ll try to implement it in one of the nearest updates already.

However, we are planning to do it for Casual only - the absence of the timer makes matches quite intense.

“Equip now” button for skins

Another great suggestion from your side! We will do our best to make it until the end of June.

That will be it for today. We hope that we have addressed all important issues our game has right now. Please let us know if we forgot something - we will include it into our next big Dev Update.

We’d like to make such updates every week, so that you could see how we deal with the issues and when they are going to be fixed.

Thank you very much for your feedback and for playing our game!

Yours,
Warface: Breakout team
